Today we had a very full day. In reading we read the book, Pitch, Throw, Grasp and Know – A Book About Synonyms and learned about synonyms.  We played Synonym Memory.  In writing we used Photo Booth to take pictures of ourselves to make us look ‘alien-ish’ for our stories.  We also reviewed focus.  We started a new chapter book from the A to Z Mysteries series.  In math we began chapter 3 about subtraction.  Today we practiced counting back to find the answer to a subtraction problem.  We also began our online O.R.E.O. challenge.  For this challenge we had to predict how many Oreo cookies we could stack into a tower and then try to see if we could stack that many. You can click on the ‘Online Projects’ tab of our blog to watch a slideshow of us collecting our data.  It was a lot of fun!  We also started unit 7 in spelling.  Our new spelling words are in our planners.
