Today in math we talked about faces, vertices, and edges on three dimensional shapes. We made cubes, pyramids, and rectangular prisms using toothpicks and marshmellows. The marshmellows were the vertices and the toothpicks were the edges. It was a lot of fun. For writing we wrote a how-to on how to make a three dimensional shape using toothpicks and marshmellows. In reading, we read Strega Nona and reviewed sequencing. We each wrote and event from the story on sentence strips and then had to ask a class put ourselves in order. After that we read our sentences in order to make sure we had it right and we also looked for any part of the story that we left out. After that we pasted our finished sentences in the order that they happened in the story. This afternoon we went to the library and checked out new books. We had a great day!
