This morning, we went to a Teamwork Pep Rally. It was a lot of fun. The high school band, football players, and cheerleaders were there to cheer us on and talk to us about teamwork. In reading, we are continuing our fairy tale unit. We finished our study of Cinderella novels today. We read Adelita – A Mexican Cinderella and discussed fairy tale elements in the story. Next week we will be starting The Three Little Pigs and several variations. In writing, we talked about adding details to our stories. In math we worked on analyzing graphs. Then we read Sarah Morton – The Day in the Life of a Pilgrim Girl. We also made butter in class and got to try it. It tasted YUMMY!! Below are some pictures from Red Ribbon Week.
The Junior Crew kids would like to know what a Pep Rally is please?
A Pep Rally is an event where the students come together before an important event, such as a sporting event, to get pumped up and promote team spirit. At our pep rally, the high school band played, the cheerleaders did a few cheers, and the football players talked to us about teamwork. They are a lot of fun, and they are REALLY loud and are filled with a lot of excitement from everyone there.
I love all the pics of the kids. Looks like you got a great group of kids!
