This week we began our unit on fairy tales. We started this unit with Cinderella. We talked about the different elements of fairy tales and identified them today in the original version of Cinderella using a graphic organizer. In writing we worked on adding details to our writing by being more descriptive. In math, we took our midchapter check on graphing. We also started our study of colonial living this week. We read Samuel Eaton’s Day and looked at the life of a young boy during this time period and compared it to how we live our lives today. We also looked at a quill and tomorrow we will try to write with one!

Last term we did a lot of fairy tale work with Mrs Ellis our other teacher. We did diaramas of fairy tales. We also we had to rewrite a chosen fairy tale. This week sounds very busy for you. We would like to know how you got on with your quill writing. And what kind of feather did you use for it? Or is the quill something else? Does it drip very much when you use it? They used quills in Harry Potter!
