Today we talked about the importance of being bucket fillers. We talked about how everyone walks around with an invisible bucket and when their bucket is full, they are happy and feel good about themselves. However, if their bucket is empty they feel sad. Our goal is to be bucket fillers. A bucket filler makes other people feel good inside and the good part is that it is easy to do. A simple smile, a thank you, or telling someone what they mean to you can fill their bucket and make them feel good inside. It doesn’t cost anything at all. A bucket dipper makes others feel bad about themselves through making fun of them, laughing at them, or maybe bullying them. So my challenge to all my students is to be bucket fillers and to build each other up through encouraging each other and being kind to one another and to not stop there. Fill the buckets of your teachers, bus drivers, friends, neighbors, and even your parents. Filling others buckets by making them feel good inside will in turn fill your own bucket!
